Cathy is an artist who works in design and painting. She has worked on many promotional projects for St. Petronille Parish over the past 20 years. Her favorite projects have been in the area of Liturgical Art which has afforded opportunities to work with parishes throughout the diocese. In 2016, through the inspiration and encouragement of Sister Clarissa Abella, she joined the Outreach Team of the Diocese of Joliet Partnership in Mission to teach art-making skills to children and teens in the Philippines. Based on the lessons of that first mission experience and the relationships built and enriched upon return trips in ‘17, ‘18 and ’19, Cathy collaborated to expand the Outreach Team goals to include community based mural painting. Cathy sees large scale mural painting as a means of bringing children, teens, and adults together to share in a unique faith building experience. Believing that art exploration fosters hope, imagination, and courage in a child, attributes critical to building a bright future, she is currently working on development of a non-profit dedicated to supplying art materials to international mission communities serving the poor. Cathy seeks to inspire joy in the poorest children of our world through the adventure of art-making. Cathy invites Serra Club members to help with her ministry.
